Experience the Magic of Sublette County, Wyoming!

© Adam Bacher All Rights Reserved adam@earthwatersky.comSublette County sits in the heart of the American West, in western Wyoming along the Oregon Trail. The county rests on a high plateau ringed by glaciated mountain ranges. Vacation and hunting opportunities abound amongst spectacular scenery.

The Sublette County Outfitters & Guides Association is ready to help you plan a memorable wilderness adventure or hunting trip. Simply fill out the quick form below to request brochures from all our outfitters in one easy step.

Why Sublette County?

The Bridger Wilderness - Sublette County is the gateway to the Bridger Wilderness in the Wind River Range which includes 1300 named lakes and many more. Famous mountains in the Bridger Wilderness include Gannett Peak, the highest point in Wyoming, and Square Top, one of the most photographed mountains in the west. Moose and other wildlife are abundant in the pristine river valleys and surrounding mountains, and marmots and pikas can be seen and heard in the boulder fields. Numerous feed grounds provide elk with a stable source of feed in the winter, assuring good populations. Hunters get ready for the hunt of a life time.

A Taste of the Old West - In Sublette County, cowboys still make their living herding steers, and busting broncs and roping are still favorite pastimes. The Oregon Trail passed through here, and before that the Mountain Men had rendezvous on the Green River after trapping for beaver. A rendezvous is still held each July. Join us for some real Western hospitality around the camp fire and get away from the crowds. With the lowest population of any state in the US, you'll enjoy the wide open spaces and abundant wildlife not seen in other areas. We've got the saddles, so grab your boots and head our way.

A Unique Vacation - Wilderness activities include horseback riding or hiking to a blue ribbon trout stream or scenic high mountain valley. Enjoy a day trip into the mountains to fish along crystal clear streams, with meals and cold drinks provided. If you plan to spend a longer vacation, a pack trip is a great way to explore deep into the mountains and enjoy the incredible views, while the outfitter takes care of the camp and great Wyoming dining. After dinner, evening walks may offer sights of local wildlife such as elk, moose or deer, as well as gorgeous sunsets framed by high mountain peaks. Then it's back to camp to enjoy the fire. The simple form below is a convenient way to receive brochures from all our outfitters to make your wilderness vacation an overwhelming success!
